I-CAB Functionality Allows Organizations to Achieve Regulatory Compliance via Designation of Competency Based on Internal Targets and Feedback

The I-CAB Foundation now offers a complete competency management process that provides users the opportunity to select a mentor as part of their development planning process, which will allow for a well-rounded development planning tool that incorporates training, mentorship and on the job experience. Additionally, the feedback functionality allows for leaders, peers and third parties to conduct a review on work performance or certain task assessments.

Mentorship and feedback are integral to the development of personnel and can now be monitored via the I-CAB tool. Personnel, when selecting their development plan are given the opportunity to select a mentor within the cohort of personnel assigned to the organization. From here mentors are advised of their role and incorporated into the development phase of the process. Administrators of the company account can also assign mentors where one has not yet been selected.

Capability Attributes
Completion of an I-CAB competency assessment will provide the individual with a report that breaks down their competency performance against their self-assessment of their strengths and weaknesses. Bringing to the forefront one’s self-perception versus actual performance as it relates to their competency areas will allow individuals to better understand where their gaps may lie in order to further develop.

Ability Attributes
Provision of feedback by peers, leadership or third parties can be used in conjunction with cognitive assessment results as a measurement of one’s competency strengths and gaps. Feedback is provided via the I-CAB tool in four areas, including:

  • Technical Abilities;
  • Health, Safety, Environment and Regulatory;
  • Systems and Process; and,
  • Interpersonal & Leadership

Your organization can now use the I-CAB tools to assess the capability (thinking) and ability (doing) attributes of personnel in critical roles to determine competency levels.

Individual Badge Rating
An individual badge rating has now been made available to all participating personnel as a way for the individual to track their competency assessment and development progress. The rating incorporates cognitive assessment results and improvement, as well as, feedback results as a cumulative rating.
